The UK label Ninja Tune is currently conducting an internal investigation in response to recent allegations against its CEO, Adrian Kemp.
In a statement sent to staff and seen by Resident Advisor, Ninja Tune has confirmed that Kemp will temporarily “step back” from his role during the investigation. The inquiry is being carried out by an “independent third-party HR.” The specific nature of the allegations has not been disclosed. In Kemp’s absence, Samantha Sissons, Head of Marketing, and Tess Kendall, Head of Marketing Operations, have assumed responsibilities with immediate effect.
The outcome of the investigation will be disclosed upon completion, subject to any legal constraints. Adrian will continue to support Sam and Tess but with a lower public profile.
Ninja Tune, founded in London in 1990, is a highly successful independent label in the dance music industry. Kemp has been associated with the label for over 20 years and has held the position of CEO since 2017, as documented by Companies House.
